Description of Wagner Power Products 0514001 Electric Power Roller with Trim Pad & Extension HandleFaster and easier than the traditional roller-and-tray painting setup, this power painter lets you suck paint from the can to the roller with the push of a button. Paint is sucked from the can through a hose for a steady stream of paint to the roller-eliminating repetitive trips to the paint tray; speeding up the painting process and allowing the user to achieve professional looking results at a fraction of the cost. This 110-volt electric painting system draws any paint directly from the included 1-gallon paint container, a 1-gallon can, or a 5-gallon can. Flow controls are located on the handle to help ensure smooth, even applications. The system applies up to 1-gallon of latex or oil-based paint in 15 minutes. compatible with all types of latex paints --Brian D. Tools and Hardware Reviews of Wagner Power Products 0514001 Electric Power Roller with Trim Pad & Extension HandleCustomer Review: Quick and Easy, I love it!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought my power roller to do the painting in the home we recently purchased. I am very impressed with the 959. I have not used the edging tool, after reading the comments here. In all fairness, however, I didn't buy the thing to do my edging!! I use a two inch angle brush for that and it works just fine. My edging takes longer than painting the rest of the room with the power roller.A couple of helpful tips : 1. Do all of your prep work first, before you get ready to roll. The cleanup is time consuming (we are using paint, after all). I have had the best luck doing as many rooms as you can in one long marathon. 2. Practice a little without paint in the roller first. This will allow you to get used to dragging the hose around and better prepare you for moving the Power Roller pump unit in a larger room. 3. Get a plastic bag from the grocery store and put the entire pump unit inside with the paint can in the machine. This will eliminate any possibility of spillage should disaster strike and minimize drips when changing cans. 4. DO NOT SUBMERGE THE HANDLE SECTION WITH THE SWITCH ON IT. This is mentioned on the instructions, it should be in red letters on the side of the box (who reads the instructions?). If you get water into the switch mechanism, the switch ceases to function properly until it dries out. This takes a long time and much trouble. Avoid this headache and don't stick the switch in water. 5. Plan for a messy cleanup. The bigger mess you are able to make, the faster the cleanup process goes. 6. Read the instructions throughly before use. This machine is different than any other tool you have, so study the operation before painting. I am not kidding here. 7. Have fun! Happy Painting.
